Outline


You can study Japanese from 1 year to 2 years after acquiring a student Visa.

 

In addition to learning Japanese speaking, listening, reading, and writing, you can also learn test strategies for “The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students” and the “Japanese Language Proficiency Test”. Classes are carefully divided into a wide range of levels, from beginner to advanced, according to skill levels and learning speeds of the students. Along the way, students acquire Japanese language abilities practical in a variety of situations.
 

For students aiming to advance to a university or a specialized school after graduation, we have abundant opportunities to let students experience these institutions With such experiences, class teachers and specialized staff provide advice for students to advance to higher education suitable to each individual. In addition to the Japanese language course, students can attend classes for EJU if they wish.
 

Requirement
Applicants who wish to enroll in our school must aim to pursue higher education at a university, vocational school, or other post-secondary institution in Japan, and must meet all of the following conditions:

①Have completed at least 12 years of formal schooling or an equivalent curriculum.
②Be at least 18 years old, in principle.
③Have the financial capability to support themselves during their period of study in Japan.
④Have sufficient Japanese language proficiency, as specified below, depending on the desired course of study:

For the 1-Year Preparatory Course:
Applicants must have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to A2 (late stage) or higher according to the JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education.
They must submit one of the following certificates:

Test / Document Requirement
JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) : N4 or higher
J.TEST (Test of Practical Japanese) : Grade E or higher
JPT (Japanese Proficiency Test) : Score of 370 or higher
Certificate from a university, vocational school, junior/senior high school, or Japanese language institution Must certify 500+ hours of Japanese study or proficiency equivalent to A2 (late stage)
 

For the 2-Year Preparatory Course:
Applicants must have Japanese language proficiency equivalent to A1 or higher according to the JF Standard for Japanese-Language Education.
They must submit one of the following certificates:

Test / Document Requirement
JLPT: N5 or higher
J.TEST : Grade F or higher
JPT : Score of 315 or higher
Certificate from an educational institution Must certify 150+ hours of Japanese study or proficiency equivalent to A1

⑤Apply through the local agencies assigned by Okayama Institute of Languages, or have a reliable guarantor living in Japan.

⑥Have not previously entered Japan with an “Entertainer” residence status.

⑦Have not repeatedly entered or left Japan during a year with “Temporary Visa” status.

⑧Have resided outside Japan for more than one year after a training period, if you have lived in Japan with a “Trainee” or “Designated Activities” residence status. Additionally, you must have used the trained expertise in your country after your return.

⑨Be eligible for expected legal permission to enter Japan.

CURRICULUM

The new curriculum as an accredited "Nationally Accredited Japanese language educational Institutions for study in Japan" will start in October 2025.


 

 Subject Description
Integrated Japanese Develop balanced and practical skills in reading, listening, writing, and speaking (interaction and presentation) according to the required level for language activities.
Project Work Develop the ability to engage in language activities such as reading, listening, writing, and speaking (interaction and presentation) based on tasks involving planning, research, presentations, and Q&A suited to various situations.
Reading Comprehension Learn techniques for reading a variety of Japanese texts and understanding them through comparison and analysis.
Listening Comprehension Acquire skills to obtain information and grasp the main ideas by listening to various types of Japanese.
Composition Learn logical thinking and writing techniques to compose well-organized texts on various themes.s by listening to various types of Japanese.
Vocabulary Study vocabulary usage starting from A2 level and transition toward independent learning.
Kanji Learn kanji systematically through daily practice, including learning stroke order and key points, and transition toward independent learning.
Homeroom Learn how to smoothly proceed to higher education institutions by managing self-study, preparing for interviews, and exams, while working cooperatively with others and understanding cultural differences.
