  • Classes are taught by our well-trained teachers, who continue to update and improve their skills.
  • Classes are divided into many levels from the basic to the advanced.
  • There is one dedicated teacher per classroom to support your studies attentively.
  • Your teacher meets regularly with you for academic advisement to support your goals and the progress of your studies.
  • In the Japanese Social Studies class, you can learn what is happening in Japan and the world in Japanese.
  • You can improve composition skills by exchanging a journal with your teachers.
  • There are special Kanji classes for the students who are not familiar with Kanji.
  • For self-learning, the new listening test data for all levels is uploaded on the school computers for students every week.
  • There are reference books and self-learning books at your disposal in the reading rooms.
  • With the teacher evaluation system, your feedback will be reflected in the classroom.

Support for Your Higher Education Goals in Japan

  • Orientation for Your Higher Education Goals
    We have teachers dedicated solely to Okayama Institute of Languages students with higher education goals; they are equipped to provide academic advisement for developing your course plan, information on how to choose schools, and support to keep you on track.
  • Academic Advising
    The teacher who is in charge of your classroom gives you advice on your courses and your progress, can discuss your higher education goals, and guides you through the application process.
  • Preparation for Japanese Exams
    Preparation for “The Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students” and the “Japanese-Language Proficiency Test”: the preparatory courses are included in the regular hours, and practice exams are held before the tests.
  • Advice on Graduate Schools
    For students who want to go to graduate school, we hold an orientation and offer academic advising, and advice on all aspects of the process, including how to write a proposal and contact the professors.
  • Admission on the Recommendation System
    In this special arrangement, several private colleges and vocational schools offer fee reduction for our students.
  • University/ School Informational Fair
    Admission officers from universities and vocational schools, mainly the schools our graduates have gone to, visit us to hold informational seminars.
  • Entrance Exams at Our Site
    Some vocational schools hold their entrance exam at our site, especially for our students.
  • Substantial Data
    In our information corner of higher education, there are many brochures and magazines about universities and vocational schools.
  • Math and Science Preparatory Classes
    For students who want to go to national or major private universities, there are math and science prerequisites. Our free preparatory classes for the “Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students” are open after school.
